Newcastle Festival is run entirely by unpaid volunteers. However, items such as professional adjudicators and venue hire need to be paid for and entry fees only partly cover the costs. The approximate number of singers must be stated on the entry form. No Singer or Conductor may perform with more than one group in the same class.
The choice of songs must be stated at the time of entry and a copy of the music must be presented to the Adjudicator on the day of the festival. (See rules 17a and 17c).
Subcategories
The Junior classes could be held on the Friday evening or Saturday afternoon. (Please state on entry if you are unavailable on Friday 15th or Saturday 16th March).
Trophy to be awarded to the winner at the discretion of the Adjudicator.
Open to any category of adult choir of 16 voices or more including Community, Gospel and Barber Shop etc.(14 voices if Barber Shop). School and Youth Choirs are excluded, though some, no more than four school aged members are allowed.
